摘 要

The world is very complex and dynamic. To better analyze it, we generate many data. We need advanced mathematics to be able to analyze and penetrate the data. Scientific statements are now embedded in a context expressible only in the language of advanced mathematics.

Learning how to model or describe the things in a mathematical way is an important capability nowadays. In the lectures, simple examples are used to illustrate the applicability of Mathematical models. We shall observe that, by changing the data or by interpreting the data differently, completely opposite conclusions can be reached. That reveals the importance of critical thinking in face of all the data.
