摘  要

Duality, best known as the Lagrange Duality, plays the central role in the theory of Optimization. Farkas' lemma is a solvability theorem for a finite system of linear inequalities. In this mini-course, we will show why and how an abstract solvability problem is related to the duality theorem. At the same time, we will see how the row space and the column space of a matrix provide dual views for a problem.
